Title: Children’s Pastor/Director
Hours: Full-Time
Supervisor: Lead Pastor
Connection Point Church is seeking a passionate follower of Jesus who is called to invest in the next generation and their families. The Children's Pastor/Director will provide spiritual leadership for our children's ministry while equipping parents to be the primary disciplers of their children. This person will also help expand our church's presence in the community by building meaningful relationships with local families, schools, nonprofits, and ministry partners.
The ideal candidate is a relational leader with a pastor's heart and an administrator's mind. They demonstrate patience, grace, and kindness while leading volunteers, caring for families, and creating environments where children can encounter the love of Jesus. They are organized, dependable, and able to build healthy ministry systems that allow volunteers and families to flourish.
At Connection Point, we believe Everyday Discipleship is the goal for every generation, and this leader will champion that vision in every aspect of their ministry.
Primary Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership
•Embrace the importance of shepherding any who need pastoral support or prayer
•Build and nurture teams that help children become Everyday Disciples.
•Provide pastoral care, teaching, encouragement, and spiritual leadership to children and their families.
•Collaborate with the pastoral staff to develop and implement the overall discipleship strategy of Connection Point.
•Equip and resource parents to serve as the primary spiritual leaders in their homes.
Children’s Ministry
•Lead all Sunday morning Children's Ministry environments.
•Help create and implement curriculum that aligns with the mission and vision of Connection Point.
•Welcome new families and help them connect into the life of the church
•Meet with those interested in baby dedications, baptisms and other milestones
•Support House Church Pastors by providing children's ministry resources and assistance
•Build meaningful, Christ-centered relationships with children, parents, and volunteers.
•Plan events that encourage, equip, and support parents in raising children to follow Jesus.
Volunteer Development
•Shepherd, encourage, develop, and equip volunteer leaders in both spiritual growth and ministry effectiveness.
•Recruit, train and encourage healthy volunteer teams.
•Foster a volunteer culture marked by ownership, teamwork, and servant leadership.
•Provide volunteers with the vision, tools, and training needed to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for every child and family.
•Communicate consistently with volunteers.
Administration
•Steward the Children's Ministry budget with wisdom and accountability.
•Maintain ministry safety policies, volunteer screening, and child protection procedures.
•Coordinate ministry calendars, schedules, events, supplies, and logistics.
•Utilize Planning Center and other church management software to organize volunteers, communicate with families, maintain accurate records, and support the overall effectiveness of the ministry.
•Develop dependable ministry systems that allow volunteers and families to thrive.
Qualifications
•A growing and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
•A clear calling to ministry and family discipleship.
•Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
•Ability to recruit, lead, and develop volunteer teams.
•Strong organizational and administrative abilities
•Comfortable learning and utilizing church management software, including Planning Center.
•Ability to work collaboratively with staff, elders, and volunteers.
•Agreement with the mission, vision, and values of Connection Point Church.
Preferred Experience
Experience serving in children's ministry or a related ministry is preferred but not required.•Bachelor's degree or equivalent ministry experience preferred.
Experience serving in a church of 400+ attendees is helpful but not necessary.
Experience ministering to children with diverse learning or developmental needs is a plus.
